Vacuum Cleaning Tips You Never Knew You Needed

How many times do you vacuum a week? Once, twice, three times? Is it just enough to keep the house tidy and clean? Not really. The number of vacuum cleaning sessions you need to do at home depends on how many people live in your house, how often you have company over, and any pets around. To help get your home spick-and-span again and feel like a virtual showroom, here are some tips for keeping a tidy house.

Vacuum Cleaning 101

A clean vacuum is a happy, healthy vacuum. There are several ways to help you keep your vacuum in good condition and ready to go at any moment.

1) Vacuum Carpets and Rugs:

It would be best to vacuum your carpets every two weeks with a deep clean every month. This will remove dirt, dust, and whatever else accumulated in the carpet fibres. It also removes oils from your skin as well as other liquids that can stain or damage your carpet.

2) Vacuum Hard Floors:

Use an attachment head on your vacuum to reach the corners of your hard flooring for better cleaning results. To ensure that the floors stay shiny and new looking, use this attachment about once a week. It doesn’t have to be for more than 5 minutes to have it noticeably cleaner afterwards!

3) Dyson Handheld Vacuum:

Get a Dyson handheld if you’re looking for ease, especially around furniture or edges! It is especially well-suited for shed hair and pet hair removal, which can be notoriously tricky without this tool!

Vacuum First and Deep Clean Later

It would be best if you vacuumed first and deep clean later. Vacuuming alone can remove a significant amount of dust, hair, and dog hair from your floors. It does a great job of picking up anything that might be on the floor. The floors can then be thoroughly cleaned using a mop. Vacuum cleaning eliminates the need to scour your furniture with a bucket of sudsy water and a strong detergent or chemical cleaner.

Consider Your Home Type for Vacuum Cleaning

Your home type will determine how often you should vacuum. If your house is relatively small, it might only need a quick vacuum when guests come over. But if there’s a lot of space between the furniture and you have pets or kids, then you’ll have to vacuum more often.

One way to tell that your home needs good vacuum cleaning is if it starts to feel “smokey.” This means that all the dust particles in the air are mixed with the carpet fibres. When this happens, your home needs a deep cleaning. To avoid this happening, it’s best to vacuum every day or two (especially if you have many people in your home).

Vacuum Cleaning & Right Time to Replace Your Vacuum

How often you need to vacuum your home depends on many variables. One of the best things you can do is invest in a good quality vacuum that is easy to maintain and lasts a long time. Consider supporting a machine with a bagless design, as this will save you money on bags and filters over the long run. It would be best to consider how often your vacuum gets used. If it’s just used every few days, it may last even longer than if used daily.

Another thing to think about when buying a new vacuum cleaner is how often you need to replace the parts. If one part of your current vacuum cleaner wears out more than others, invest in that part first for increased value and increased longevity for your investment.
