Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery In Detail

Many women are unhappy with the way they look or feel sexually. Vaginal Rejuvenation

In vaginal rejuvenation surgery, your surgeon tightens the muscles around the vagina to decrease the dimensions of the vagina and increase and/or restore sexual gratification. The sexual sensation is usually greatly increased for both partners. Vaginal tightening is performed under sedation or general anaesthesia combined with local anaesthesia. The surgery lasts 1-2 hours, and it can be blended with another rejuvenation surgery like labiaplasty or pubic (mons) lift. Almost all of our patients have trouble for a few days to weeks after the operation.

Labiaplasty

Some women are born with enlarged labia minora (inner lips). Women also sometimes have a change in the appearance of their labia after childbirth, traumatic injury, or ageing. We often see patients who experience embarrassment and discomfort in tight clothing, with exercise, and with sexual intercourse. Labiaplasty surgery is also done to lessen the size of the labia relieve discomfort and enhance the appearance of the labia in vaginal rejuvenation. The procedure can be continued to the clitoral hood without a change to the nerves and with procedures designed to provide minimal scarring. In some cases, the marks cannot even be noticed after many weeks. You will likely have inflammation and discomfort for some days to weeks after surgery.

Pubic Lift

Many women also have an enlargement of the pubic area, causing a bulge in clothing. This can be due to fatty deposits, which are improved with liposuction. Weight gain and ageing can cause the pubic area to sag. A pubic lift can be performed to tighten the area. This is often combined with a tummy tuck.

Local Anaesthesia

Is injected by your plastic surgeon and is used to temporarily stop the sense of pain in a particular area of the body. The patient is fully alert and conscious during a local anaesthetic procedure.

Regional Anaesthesia

Is used by your plastic surgeon when local anaesthesia will simply not penetrate the dermis deeply enough, or disperse over a large enough area to numb the entire surgical site. Usually, a local anaesthetic is injected by the surgeon in the area of nerves that provide feeling to that part of the body. This is also commonly referred to as a nerve block.

Risks

Any surgery carries with it a risk of infection or bleeding. Serious infection and bleeding are extremely rare with labiaplasty. Additional risks include asymmetry delayed wound healing and excessive scarring.
